Boney Kapoor, in a recent interview, recalled his days of struggle. He told that his family lived in the servant quarters of Raj Kapoor. He also told how he and Anil Kapoor had decided to enter the entertainment industry.
Boney Kapoor recalled his days of struggle in an interview given to Galata Plus. He told how his family had to face financial crisis in the initial days. Boney Kapoor told how his father Surinder Kapoor was fired from 10 jobs because of fighting for the rights of workers. After which Prithviraj Kapoor brought his family to Mumbai.

Boney Kapoor said- ‘Prithviraj Kapoor had brought my family to Bombay. My grandfather handed over my father to Prithviraj ji because my father had left about 10-12 jobs. He was thrown out because he was with the workers and supporting them, and fought for their interests.
Lived in Raj Kapoor’s outhouse
Boney Kapoor further said- ‘When my grandmother passed away, Anil and I decided that he would act and I would handle the production. Someone had to run the show at home too. My father had a heart disease, we did not want to stress him. Boney Kapoor further said- ‘After his father’s marriage, he used to live in Raj Kapoor’s outhouse, which was usually for domestic employees like servants and drivers.’
